Assessments are bespoke and determined according to the identified challenges and reasons for referral. Assessments generally take place in the child's learning environment (school/ preschool/ nursery) as this enables the opportunity to meet with others that typically spend time with the child and also to observe them in their usual setting.
Parents/ carers are asked to meet the Therapist in school before the assessment takes place to discuss some of the referral information and also to gain a deeper understanding of the child's history. The child will be observed first and then a 1:1 assessment will follow.
The Therapist will then score and analyse the assessment results before compiling a report. A feedback meeting will be arranged between parents/ carers and school to discuss the assessment findings and also the recommendations to move forward.
